for real.

This piece will always hold a very special place in my heart. This was the show that I marched DCI with. That I marched my dream corps, The Santa Clara Vanguard with. I marched this at Lucas Oil Stadium in front of thousands of people. To me this piece is everything that the piece means of course, but so much more. When I listen to this piece I think about my brothers and sisters from the 2009 season. I think about my horrible sun burns. I think about sweating and being so unbelievably tired. I think about the push in the last minute of the show. I think about Clowns. I think about how much I love Drum Corps, and SCV, and just music in general. This never fails to make me cry. Most of all I remember tearing up as I began to play the push for the last time on finals night in Indianapolis. This was a landmark summer in my life, and this piece was a landmark in my growth as a musician and a person.

When you’re rehearsing a part in the music where your mute needs to be in and switched to a different mute a couple of bars later, or just taken out, and it feels like your director just wants to irritate you by going back to that section over and over again. So you’re constantly fumbling over mutes. Fuck mutes.

Oh my god. This shit happened today. ALL OF MY HATE.

I just realised I have this saved on my laptop, I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT MENTIONS SLOTHS AND NIGEL THORNBERRY IN ONE GIF.

I’ve been listening to the soundtrack for Batman Arkham City again and it’s absolutely stunning.  In many ways it reminds me of Jespyr Kid’s work for Assassin’s Creed — haunting… sad… and yet with persistent elements of strength and honor.

Bravo.

This is pretty freaking cool. I have yet to play this game, but this just makes me want to play it even more. I can hear traces of Hans Zimmer in there, which makes me wonder if the composer used The Dark Knight as inspiration. Anyway, it’s really cool.
